Structural Adaptations

Structural adaptations are the physical features of an organism that help it to survive and succeed in its environment. Structural adaptations can alter the way in which organism can move, eat, reproduce or protect itself.

Physiological Adaptations

Physiological adaptations refer to the ongoing processes which internal body functions are regulated and adjusted to maintain homeostasis in the internal environment.

Behavioural Adaptations

Behavioural adaptations is any process by which an organism changes its pattern of action to better suit its environment which aids the survival of the organism.

All organisms live in their physical environments and have specialised adaptations that enable them to survive and successfully reproduce. The environment in which they live is composed of both abiotic and biotic

factors in which they must successfully interact with. In an evolutionary sense, an adaptations is any change in the structure, function and behaviour of an organism that makes it better suited to its environment. This website explores the environment and adaptations in which Meerkats undertake in order to survive and reproduce.
